Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that a mild cold wave is sweeping over the north and north-eastern regions for the next 24 hours. "Mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Sirajgonj, Dinajpur and Moulvibazar and it may continue," the forecast begins from 9 am today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ridge of the sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and the adjoining western part of Bangladesh, while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay. The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Additionally, light to moderate fog is expected to occur over the country during the late night to morning.
The night and day temperatures are anticipated to remain nearly unchanged across the country. On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.7 degrees Celsius in Teknaf, while the minimum temperature today was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur. The sun sets today at 5:41 pm and rises tomorrow at 6:41 am in the capital.
