Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours commencing from 9am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Met office bulletin issued this morning detailed that light to moderate rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes, are likely to occur at many places over the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, a few areas in the Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, and one or two places in the Rajshahi, Khulna, and Barishal divisions, may experience similar weather conditions.
The bulletin further indicated that moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in parts of the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
A mild heat wave is currently sweeping over the Khulna division and the districts of Madaripur, Chandpur, and Lakshmipur, with expectations that it may continue. The country's highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 37.4 degrees Celsius in Jashore, while the minimum temperature today was 20.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.
Residents in Dhaka can expect the sun to set at 6:34pm today and rise at 5:15am tomorrow.
