Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that light to moderate rain or thunder showers are likely to occur at a few places over the country for the next 24 hours beginning this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the forecast indicates that regions including Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are expected to experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds. There are expectations of moderately heavy falls in certain areas.
The development of a low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has been noted and is anticipated to intensify. Concurrently, the southwest monsoon has progressed into Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions, as well as the eastern part of Dhaka division.
While the day temperature may see a slight rise, the night temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 36.3 degrees Celsius in Feni, whereas the minimum temperature observed today was 20.6 degrees Celsius in Khepupara.
For those in Dhaka, the sun is scheduled to set at 6:40 pm today and will rise at 5:12 am tomorrow.
