Menon, Inu, Palak Sent to Jail After Remand in Youth Murder Case.

Dhaka: A court here today sent former ministers Rashed Khan Menon and Hasanul Haq Inu, along with ex-state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, to jail after completing their remand in connection with the murder case of youth Emon Hossain Gazi. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Zunaid issued the order as the trio was presented before the court upon the conclusion of their remand period.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case details reveal that Emon Gazi suffered fatal bullet wounds during a demonstration involving students and civilians at Chittagong Road under Jatrabari Police Station on August 5, resulting in his immediate death. Emon’s brother, Anwar Hossain, subsequently filed a case with Jatrabari Police Station on August 28, seeking justice for his brother’s untimely demise.

The arrests were made on different dates in August, with Menon being apprehended from the city’s Gulshan area on August 22, Inu from Uttara on August 26, and Palak from the Nikunja residential area under Kh
ilkhet Police Station on August 14. The case has attracted significant attention given the involvement of high-profile political figures, and the court’s decision marks a critical development in the ongoing legal proceedings.
