Dhaka:Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has motivated young cricketers participating in the Third Division Cricket Qualifiers to aspire to join the national team, reflecting his own path through the Dhaka League.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, speaking at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Miraz shared his beginnings in cricket, starting in 2009 with the Bangladesh Under-15 team. He emphasized the significance of the qualifiers in his progression through various levels of the Dhaka League, from the Third Division to the Premier League.
Miraz expressed his gratitude for the return of the Third Division Qualifiers after a prolonged hiatus, praising the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for relaunching the event. He acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the competition's continuation and expressed relief at its revival.
The all-rounder highlighted the chance for players from different regions of Bangladesh to connect and learn from each other. He fondly remembered forming friendships with cricketers from various areas during his own progression and anticipated that the current participants would have similar experiences.
Miraz concluded by expressing his hope that the competition would produce future players for the Bangladesh national team, envisioning the emergence of new leaders for the next generation.
