Medicinal Herbs Fair at Nepal Academy today

Kathmandu: The Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine Hospital has organised a 'Medicinal Herbs Fair' today with an objective of encouraging the use of herbs as medicinal substances. Hospital Chief Dr Poonam Nepal said that the Fair was organised at Nepal Academy to impart knowledge about medicinal herbs. Valuable herbs grown in the Himalaya, mountain and Tarai regions of the country would be displayed. Similarly, information would be imparted on identification and use of herbs, indigenous and endangered herbs, identification of local herbs for treatment, use and production in the fair. During the event, scientific sessions related to medicinal herbs and nutrition, climate change, environmental health and sustainable conservation of herbs would be conducted . Dr Nepal shared that around 5,600 species of herbs are used to produce medicines in Nepal. Source: National News Agency RSS
