Dhaka: The admission test for the 2025-26 academic sessions for government and private medical colleges across Bangladesh is set to take place on December 12. The announcement was made following a meeting held by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Dr. Nazmul Islam, the Director General of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), confirmed the decision. He stated that preparations for the exam are in progress, with the application process and other related matters to be finalized and announced soon.
Dr. Islam added that the specifics regarding marks distribution, the number of seats, and additional details will be reviewed in an upcoming meeting. An official notification is expected to be released shortly thereafter.
The meeting was attended by key figures including Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) President Md. Saiful Islam, Joint Secretary of the Health Education and Family Welfare Division Mallika Khatun, and DGHE Director Prof Dr. Mohiuddin Matubbar.
Currently, Bangladesh has 38 public medical colleges offering 5,380 seats and 67 private colleges with 6,293 seats available for aspiring medical students.
