Gazipur: State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. MA Muhit today announced the launch of a nationwide measles-rubella vaccination campaign, emphasizing its top priority to safeguard the health of every child throughout the country. The campaign aims to provide effective prevention against measles, a serious infectious disease with complications primarily affecting children.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. MA Muhit highlighted the effectiveness of vaccination in preventing measles during the inauguration of the ‘Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign’ at Bhawal Mirzapur Union Parishad in Gazipur. The drive has already commenced in areas with prevalent measles cases and will extend to other regions in phases, ensuring no child is left unvaccinated.
Dr. Muhit stressed the phased approach of the campaign, which is designed to address the current measles outbreak and mitigate its rapid transmission. The event witnessed the participation of several notable figures, including Dr. SM Rafiqul Islam Bachchu, MP, Manjurul Karim Rony, MP, UNICEF Deputy Representative Emmanuel Abriox, and World Health Organization Deputy Country Representative Dr. Rajesh Narwal.
