Dhaka: Md. Fazlul Hoque, a former president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), today joined as the administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an office order issued by the Ministry of Commerce on July 26 appointed Fazlul Hoque as the administrator to ensure the continuity of the activities of the country’s apex trade body and safeguard the interests of trade, commerce, and industry, as stated in a message issued by the Ministry of Commerce today.
The appointment was made under Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022. The ministry’s directive has entrusted the newly appointed administrator with conducting a fair, transparent, and neutral election to the FBCCI within 120 days and handing over responsibilities to the newly elected board.
