Jahangirnagar university: The inauguration of the Master Plan Office at Jahangirnagar University (JU) took place today. Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan inaugurated the office as chief guest at around 12:00 PM in the university’s new administrative building.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan addressed the inauguration ceremony, stating that the demand for a master plan for the university has been long-standing among students, faculty, and other stakeholders. He noted that an initial partial master plan existed at the time of the university’s establishment.
He further explained that upon the establishment of the new administration, a call for tender for the preparation of the master plan was issued. Prof. Dr. Ahsan expressed optimism that the work would be completed on time and that the long-awaited demand for a comprehensive master plan at Jahangirnagar University would be successfully fulfilled.
The event was attended by Pro-VC (Academic) Prof. Dr. M. Mahfujur Rahman, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof. Dr. Sohel Ahmed, Director of the Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Coordinator of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (Master Plan) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Akhtar Mahmud, Acting Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman, Comptroller Md. Mosanul Kabir, and Acting Director of the Planning and Development Office Md. Nasir Uddin.
