Cox's bazar: Marshall Ayub hit a ton to guide Dhaka to 246-7 on Day 1 of the National Cricket League (NCL) fifth round game against Barishal Division at Cox's Bazar Stadium today. After opting to bat first, Dhaka were reduced to a precarious 18-3 before Marshall rescued the side. He hit an unbeaten 118 off 184 with 15 boundaries and steered the side amid the regular strike of Barishal bowlers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Marshall shared a 135-run partnership with Ashikur Rahman Shibili, who made 64, to steady the innings. However, Shibili's departure triggered further collapse, but Marshall's composure helped the side saw off the day, shortened by bad light. Sumon Khan was batting on 12 along with Marshall at stumps. Towhidul Islam Rasel picked up 3-42 for Barishal to wreak havoc on Dhaka's batting lineup.
