Manikganj: The Manikganj district administration has undertaken the financial responsibility for the medical college admission of Nandini Sarker, a promising student and daughter of an impoverished rickshaw puller. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manwar Hossein announced this initiative as he presented a check to Nandini to cover her admission expenses.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nandini Sarker is the daughter of Anil Kumar Sarker, a rickshaw puller from Gilanda village in the Nabagram union. She recently appeared for the admission test and achieved the 133rd position, securing a spot at Dhaka Medical College.

Nandini aspires to become a doctor and contribute to the welfare of the country. Her mother, Shima Rani Sarker, expressed that while Nandini has the opportunity to pursue her dream, the family lacks the resources to cover her educational costs.

Nandini’s father, Anil Kumar Sarker, stated, “I manage a family of six with my income from auto-rickshaw driving. I am unable to afford my daughter’s medical college expenses. The local administration’s support is a significant honor for us.”
