Dhaka: Mango exports from Bangladesh for the 2025 season have commenced, marking the start of shipments of the summer fruit to five countries, including the United States and Germany. A total of 13 metric tons of mangoes have been sent to the US, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the export activities were inaugurated by Agriculture and Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at a function held at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council auditorium in the city. In his address, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury highlighted that mango production is being carried out through a project aimed at increasing mango production and exports.
He further mentioned that agricultural incentives will be provided to cater to the needs of mango farmers. Farmers will have access to improved mango seedlings from the horticulture center at a reduced price. The adviser also urged the authorities to enhance the production of mango seedlings at the horticulture center through incentives.
