Man suffers bullet wounds in Natore clash over removing rain water

A man sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two groups of villagers over draining rain water in Lalpur upazila of Natore district on Tuesday.

The injured was identified as Rajab Sardar of Nagsosha village.

Monowaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Lalpur Police Station, said waterlogging problem has been created at the house of Jamir Uddin of Nagsosha village due to incessant rain for a couple of days.

When he tried to make a drain over the land of one person Fazar Sardar to extract the rainwater, they got involved in a heated argument.

At one stage, the supporters of both groups were involved in it, triggering a clash, leaving Ajmat Sardar injured.

When both groups attacked each other, Sumon, son of Jamir Uddin, opened fire on them, leaving Rajab injured with bullets.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

The injured were first taken to the upazila health complex and then shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.

Police also seized a bullet and shell of a bullet from the spot.
