A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by some miscreants in Dinajpur’s Birganj upazila on Friday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Amal Debnath, son of late Dhirendra Debnath of Choupukuria village of Sator union of the upazila. He worked as a waiter in a local hotel.
Subrata Kumar Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Birganj Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on him over an old enmity in the Singra Shalban area around 1pm.
“Amal died on the spot,” he added.
Efforts are on to nab the culprits, said the OC.
Meanwhile, locals alleged that Amal was killed by drug dealers.
