Narayanganj: A court here today awarded life-term imprisonment to a man after 21 years of a murder. Additional District and Sessions Judge of Narayanganj, Mominul Islam, awarded the sentence to Masum, 42, for killing a teenage boy, Murad, in the Fatulla area in 2004.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Court Inspector Kaiyum Khan informed journalists that the court pronounced the verdict in the absence of the convict. Murad was the son of Ponir Hossain of Tolla Matbarbari under Fatulla upazila.
The prosecution stated that Masum, son of Abdul Ahad of Tolla Chhoto Masjid area of Fatulla, called Murad from his residence and subsequently killed him. Sahara Khatun, the mother of Murad, filed the case with Fatulla thana in connection with the incident.
