Man Killed, Three Injured in Chandpur Road Accident

Chandpur: A man was killed and three others injured in a road accident in the Bakila area on the Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway on Thursday evening. The deceased was identified as Kibria Alam, 30, a businessman and son of Abdul Malek from Rayshri union in Shahrasti Upazila. One of the injured was identified as Rina Begum, 25, wife of Abu Sufian of the Piplakara area in the same upazila.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the accident occurred around 7:30 pm when a CNG-run autorickshaw collided head-on with a chicken-laden trolley in front of a local residence in the Bakila area. Kibria Alam died on the spot, while three injured persons were rescued and taken to the hospital.



Local former UP member Faruk Hossain stated that the vehicles involved in the accident were handed over to the police. Md. Abdur Jabbar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hajiganj Police Station, mentioned that police were dispatched to the scene after receiving information and that legal action is underway.
