Dhaka: A man was killed in a road accident in the Dakatia area of Shakharikathi union under Nazirpur upazila of the district last night. The deceased was Ratan Majumder, 50, son of the late Rabindra Majumder of Jujkhola village of Sikder Mallik union of Pirojpur Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus collided with a Nasiman, a locally made vehicle, resulting in the death of its driver, Ratan, on the spot. Nazirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Harun-or-Rashid Howlader confirmed the incident.
Legal action is currently underway to identify the vehicle responsible for the accident, OC Howlader added.
