Jatrabari: Iqbal Hossain, 35, was killed after being hit by a Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) garbage truck in Jatrabari on Thursday night. He died on the spot after being struck by the truck while crossing the road at Kalapatti area under Jatrabari Police Station around 10pm, police and hospital sources said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the body of Iqbal was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Iqbal, who hailed from Barisal, was residing in Dhalpur and worked at a laundry shop.
Police have seized the truck involved in the incident and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The truck was reportedly being driven by the driver's assistant at the time of the incident, and the assistant has been arrested in connection with the event.
