Dhaka: A labourer died from electrocution while cleaning grass and dust on the roof of the Manikganj Government Devendra College on Thursday. The victim was identified as Md. Abdul Khalek Dewan, 50, son of Ashkor Dewan of Panch Baroil village under Nabagram Union in Manikganj Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred when Dewan was performing maintenance work on the college roof. After being rescued, he was sent to the Manikganj 250-bed Sadar Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for further procedures.
