Ishwardi: A man was killed after being run over by a train in front of Government Nazim Uddin High School near the Ishwardi Railway Junction this morning. The deceased was identified as Selim Hossain, 50, son of late Ramjam Ali, and a resident of Purba Tengri Eidgah Road area of Ishwardi Municipality.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred around 9 am when the Madhumoti Express train struck Selim while he was crossing the rail track. Following the accident, locals immediately rescued him and transported him to the Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex. Despite their efforts, Selim succumbed to his injuries.
Ishwardi Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman confirmed the incident.
