Narail:A man who was injured in a clash between two rival groups in Kalia upazila of Narail has died at Khulna Medical College and Hospital. The incident occurred over a dispute regarding establishing supremacy in the area.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased, identified as 38-year-old Hasan Sheikh of Charkandipara village in Kalia upazila, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. The clash, which took place on Wednesday in Kalabaria, involved supporters of two groups led by Sohel Member and Abed Sheikh.
During the conflict, 11 people were injured, with five sustaining bullet wounds. The injured were initially taken to Kalia Upazila Health Complex. The five individuals with bullet injuries, including Hasan, were later transferred to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where Hasan died around 4 a.m.
Md Hossain Ali, the officer-in-charge of Naragati Police Station, stated that additional police have been deployed in the area to prevent further incidents.
