Joypurhat: A youth was killed after being run over by a train near Panchbibi Railway Station of the district today. The deceased was Palash Mahanta, 45, son of late Nilmani Mahanta of Damdama Turipara Mohalla in Panchbibi Municipality.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place this morning while Palash was walking and roaming on the railway tracks in a distracted manner. He died on the spot. Santahar Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Habibur Rahman Habib confirmed the matter.
