Dhaka: Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) today arrested a man and recovered a large quantity of yaba tablets from a bus in front of Molla Tower in Pashchim Rampura, Hatijheel Thana, in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrestee was identified as Shoaib Sarker, 51, son of Abu Yusuf from Tengarchar village in Gazaria Thana of Munshiganj district. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the DNC conducted a raid on an Abdullahpur-bound slipper bus from Cox’s Bazar, named ‘Doel Express’, and apprehended Shoaib. The team successfully recovered 10,000 pieces of yaba tablets from his possession.
A case has been filed with Hatirjheel Thana concerning the incident.
