Dhaka: The fire that erupted in the Hosaf Shopping Complex at the Malibagh intersection in the capital was brought under control shortly after it started. The incident occurred on the fourth floor of the six-story building around 1pm, filling the entire structure and surrounding areas with thick smoke.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) control room reported that two units of the fire service responded promptly upon receiving information about the fire. However, by the time they arrived, individuals in the market had already managed to extinguish the flames.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Initial assessments suggest that the fire may have originated from an air conditioning unit, as indicated by sources from the Fire Service.
