Narsingdi: Ekushey Television's district correspondent Makhan Das has been elected president, while UNB's district correspondent Asadul Haque Palash has secured the position of general secretary of the Narsingdi Press Club. This decision was made during the bi-annual executive committee election held today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the other office bearers elected include Vice Presidents Kazi Anwar Kamal, who is the district correspondent and editor of Bangladesh Betar, and Haldhar Das, the district correspondent of Bangladesher Alo. The role of Joint General Secretary has been assigned to Md. Sohel S. Hossain, editor of Weekly Sonali Bangladesh. Md. Faruk Mia, editor of Daily Narsingdir Bani, will serve as Treasurer. The position of Literature, Culture, and Sports Secretary has been given to Abul Bashar Bashir, district correspondent of Dainik Somoyer Alo, and Tofail Ahmed Swapon, district correspondent of DBC News, has been elected as Office Secretary.
The newly elected executive members include Amzad Hossain, district correspondent of Daily Jaijaidin; ATM Mostafa (Babor), editor of Dainik Narsingdi Saradin; and Md. Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, district correspondent of Daily Amar Barta. Out of 61 eligible voters, 56 votes were cast in this election.
Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Superintendent of Police Md. Menhajul Alam, Civil Surgeon Syed Amirul Haque Shamim, along with other senior officials, extended their congratulations to the newly elected committee.
