Dhaka:The Home Ministry has initiated a significant reshuffle within Bangladesh Police, involving the transfer and reassignment of 13 senior officers. This decision affects Additional Inspectors General of Police (Addl. IGPs), Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), and Superintendents of Police (SPs) across various key police units, metropolitan forces, and district commands.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the reshuffle impacts several important police commands, including the SRB, Highway Police, Industrial Police, the Police Telecom Organization, CID, DMP, Gazipur Metropolitan Police, and Rajshahi Range. District police administrations in Nilphamari, Munshiganj, Jamalpur, and Barguna are also affected.
The Public Security Division's Police-1 Branch issued two notifications today, signed by Deputy Secretary Tauhif Ahmed. These notifications, issued in the public interest, state that the transfer and posting orders are to take immediate effect. Seven senior officers received new assignments across the Police Headquarters, specialized police units, and regional commands.
Md. Ahsan Habib Palash, previously Director General (Addl. IGP) of SRB, is now transferred to Police Headquarters as Additional Inspector General of Police. Faruk Ahmed, formerly Additional IGP of Highway Police, has been appointed Director General (Addl. IGP) of SRB.
Md. Sayedur Rahman, who served as Additional IGP at Police Headquarters, is now posted to Highway Police as its Additional IGP. Gazi Jashim Uddin, Additional IGP of Industrial Police, has been moved to the Police Telecom Organization at Rajarbagh as Additional IGP.
Md. Israel Hawlader, who was Police Commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), is appointed Additional IGP of Industrial Police following his promotion. Meanwhile, Md. Ashiq Sayeed, previously DIG of Rajshahi Range, is now the Police Commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police. Mir Ashraf Ali, DIG of Railway Police, has been transferred to Rajshahi Range as its new DIG.
In a separate notification, six officers at the Superintendent of Police rank have also been reassigned. Md. Farhad Hossain Khan, SP of Nilphamari, is transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as Special Superintendent of Police. Md. Menhajul Alam, formerly SP of Munshiganj, is appointed SP of Nilphamari.
Md. Badruddoza, Deputy Director (SP) at SRB, is posted as SP of Munshiganj, with his previous transfer order to Netrokona being cancelled. Mst. Farhana Yasmin, SP of Jamalpur, is moving to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC). Md. Kudrat E Khuda, formerly SP of Barguna, is now SP of Jamalpur, while K.M.A. Mamun Khan Chishti, who served as SP at SRB, is posted as SP of Barguna. The transfer and posting orders take effect immediately as per the ministry's notifications.
