Dhaka: Major General (Retd) Md Nazrul Islam has officially assumed the position of executive member (Planning and Development) at the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his career in the Bangladesh Army, Nazrul Islam held several key positions in command, staff, and training roles at various levels. His experience and leadership are expected to contribute significantly to BEZA’s objectives.
Previously, Nazrul Islam served as the Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), where he was noted for promoting good governance and efficiency in development activities. This experience is anticipated to aid his work at BEZA.
In his new role, Nazrul Islam will focus on the development of the government’s five priority economic zones: National Special Economic Zone, Jamalpur, Sreehatta, Moheshkhali, and Japanese Economic Zones. His task will be to enhance their investment appeal within a specified timeframe.
