Chittagong: Police have apprehended the main suspect in the murder case of Zahedul, a 25-year-old resident of Jangalpara Master Bari area of Atura, Dipu, under the Panchlaish police station. The arrest took place late Monday night in the Maulvi Pukur Par area of Chittagong city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individual, Md. Hasib, was taken into custody in the Hamzarbagh area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Panchlaish police station. OC Mohammad Solaiman of the Panchlaish police station confirmed the arrest, stating that it occurred in the Maulvi Pukur Par area on Monday night.
The case statement reveals that Hasib allegedly engaged in an extramarital affair with the wife of the deceased, Zahedul. This relationship led to a heated altercation between Zahedul and Hasib in the Sangeet residential area on Monday afternoon. During the argument, Hasib reportedly stabbed Zahedul with a sharp weapon, resulting in Zahedul’s death on the spot.
Following the incident, Hasib was arrested from the Maulvi Pukur Par area. In response to the tragic event, Zahedul’s elder brother, Imran, has filed a murder case with the Panchlaish police station.
