Dhaka: The main Eid-ul-Azha Jamaat in the capital will be held at 7:30 am at the National Eidgah under the management of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, along with Cabinet members, judges, senior government officials, and foreign diplomats, are expected to join the main congregation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, DSCC has already completed all necessary preparations for holding the main Eid congregation. Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable prayer environment with modern facilities and separate provisions for men and women worshippers.
The National Eidgah spans around 30,000 square metres, including a 25,400-square-metre main prayer pavilion. It is designed to accommodate around 35,000 worshippers at a time, with 121 rows in total. Among these, 250 VIP male and 80 VIP female worshippers will have designated arrangements. Separate facilities have also been made for around 31,000 male and 3,500 female worshippers.
For the convenience and security of the attendees, there will be four entry gates: one for VIPs, two for male worshippers, and one for women. The exit strategy includes seven gates, with one designated for VIPs, five for men, and one for women. The rows are allocated with five VIP male rows, one VIP female row, 65 rows for men, and 50 rows for women.
The venue is equipped with facilities to accommodate around 140 worshippers performing ablution simultaneously, with separate arrangements for men (113) and women (27). The facilities also include air conditioning, fans, lighting, safe drinking water, and carpets and prayer mats for VIP rows. The organisers have ensured separate entry and prayer arrangements for women.
To ensure safety and convenience, Fire Service and Civil Defence teams will remain on standby with fire safety support, along with first aid services, mobile toilets, drainage systems, and rain protection measures. Organisers have also installed decorative gateways, and all preparations are in place to ensure a secure, orderly, and dignified Eid congregation.
