Kurigram: The Rapid Action Battalion apprehended the main accused in a rape case in Kurigram district town on Monday afternoon. The arrest was made in connection to an incident involving the accused’s elder brother’s wife, which took place on July 5, 2024.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accused, hailing from South Musharat Madati village in Lalmonirhat, allegedly lured his sister-in-law with promises of marriage before committing the crime. The victim subsequently filed a complaint at Hatibandha Police Station, prompting an investigation and manhunt by the authorities.
RAB-13’s Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) executed an operation that led to the arrest of the suspect at 3:00 pm. Following the arrest, the individual was transferred to Hatibandha Police Station, where further legal proceedings are expected to continue.
