Dhaka: Bangladesh Mahila Parishad today paid glowing tributes to its founding president, poet Begum Sufia Kamal, marking her 25th death anniversary. The organization placed a floral wreath at her portrait at the Sufia Kamal Bhaban located in the city's Shegunbagicha area. The event was marked by a memorial meeting chaired by Dr. Fauzia Moslem, the president of Mahila Parishad. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the memorial meeting was attended by Sultana Kamal and Saida Kamal, daughters of Sufia Kamal, among others. Umme Salma Begum, the organization secretary of Mahila Parishad, conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Advocate and human rights activist Sultana Kamal highlighted that poet Begum Sufia Kamal had dedicated her life to establishing the human rights of women, aiming to position them firmly within society. Dr. Fauzia Moslem emphasized that the organization continues to work towards inspiring women with the ideals of Begum Sufia Kamal.
