Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting adviser Mahfuj Alam has extended a personal invitation to Mohammad Hossain, the youth accused of assaulting him during recent protests at Jagannath University, to visit his residence after the movement ends.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the invitation came after a meeting at the Detective Branch (DB) office, where the adviser met with Hossain and his family following Hossain's release after primary interrogation, as shared in a Facebook post by the adviser this evening.
'Mohammad Hossain, who attacked the Information Adviser, has been released after primary interrogation. The Information Adviser spoke with him and his family at the DB office,' the post stated.
Hossain, detained by police for allegedly throwing a water bottle at the adviser, was released to his guardians after Mahfuj Alam formally requested the home ministry for his release.
In the Facebook post, Mahfuj Alam also mentioned that the government would announce a clear roadmap to resolve issues at Jagannath University, expressing hope for a swift resolution to the accommodation crisis faced by the students.
