Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Mahfuj Alam today expressed his aspirations for the young talents who triumphed in the Notun Kuri 2025 competition, hoping they will bring distinction to Bangladesh's cultural sphere through their dedication.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Alam made these remarks at the award ceremony held at the Bangladesh Television (BTV) auditorium in Rampura. The event was graced by Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana as the special guest, with BTV Director General Md. Mahbubul Alam presiding over the ceremony.
Congratulating the victorious child and adolescent participants, Adviser Mahfuj Alam urged them to persist in cultural practices as they are the future custodians of the nation's heritage. He emphasized the necessity of nurturing their diverse talents and acknowledged the pivotal role parents and teachers play in shaping these young performers' abilities. He commended the parents and teachers for their contributions to the success of the Notun Kuri contestants.
Addressing the young audience, Alam underscored the historical significance of the July mass uprising, encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of those who sacrificed for the nation's ideals. He explained that the Notun Kuri initiative aims to inspire the youth to realize the dreams envisioned by those who participated in the uprising. Resuming the competition after a hiatus of two decades, the event concluded officially with the awarding of winners.
Mahfuj Alam highlighted the competition's role in preserving and promoting Bangladesh's cultural identity on a global stage. He expressed optimism that future governments would continue the tradition of organizing this esteemed competition.
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana echoed Alam's sentiments, envisioning the young winners as future leaders in arts and culture who would propel Bangladesh's cultural narrative forward. BTV Director General Md. Mahbubul Alam applauded the swift completion of the competition, attributing it to the dedication of the Information and Broadcasting Adviser.
He revealed plans for the winners, stating that the top ten performers from each category will be enlisted as BTV artists. Additionally, only the top ten winners will feature in the 'Shishuprohor' programme, set to air every Friday.
In total, 73 young performers who secured top positions across various categories in Groups 'Ka' and 'Kha' were honored at the ceremony. Winners received cash prizes, trophies, and certificates, with overall champions Priyosi Chakraborty and Shubhomita Talukder receiving special recognition and awards from the Chief Adviser on November 13.
