Modhupur: Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, MP, has stated that no irregularities, corruption, or nepotism will be tolerated in the distribution of family cards and farmer cards. The minister, who is also responsible for the Ministry of Science and Technology, conveyed this message during a views exchange meeting at the Modhupur upazila parishad meeting room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister emphasized the government’s commitment to distribute family and farmer cards as part of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s pledge. These cards aim to provide subsidies, incentives, and daily essentials to the poor. Fakir Mahbub Anam called on all relevant parties to cooperate with the administration to meet the expectations of the people. He urged for support in implementing the Prime Minister’s plan.
The minister highlighted the importance of administrative cooperation in maintaining a people-friendly government and asked government officials to listen to public concerns and act accordingly. Additionally, he stressed the need to intensify the anti-drug campaign to ensure public safety. He urged the local administration to be vigilant in protecting the youth from drug abuse and internet-based crimes, such as online gambling.
Mahbub Anam also expressed his determination to develop Tangail as a model district by fostering mutual cooperation and ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethics. Earlier, he inaugurated the construction of an RCC road from Sathir Mor on the Tangail-Mymensingh road to Tutul Traders at Sathir Mor in Madhupur town.
