Bogura: The 91st birth anniversary of Rear Admiral (Retd.) Mahbub Ali Khan, who is also the father-in-law of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, was solemnly observed in Bogura today through a series of commemorative events.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the day was marked by a Quran Khawani, Doa Mahfil, and a food distribution programme for orphans, which took place at the Baitur Rahman Central Mosque after Zohr prayers. These events were organized by the family of the late Mahbub Ali Khan to pray for the eternal peace of his soul.
Notable attendees included District BNP president Rezaul Karim Badsha, BNP National Executive Committee members Ali Azgar Talukder Hena and Joynal Abedin Chan, former District BNP convener Advocate Saiful Islam, and former District BNP general secretary Fazlul Bari Talukder Belal. They were joined by District BNP organizing secretary KM Khairul Bashar and Bogura Press Club general secretary Kalam Azad, alongside other family members and BNP officials.
The doa mahfil was led by Imam Maulana Belayet Ali of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque. After the religious ceremonies, special meals were distributed to the students of the Orphan Madrasa at Dattabari in the district town, further marking the occasion with charity.
Rear Admiral (Retd.) Mahbub Ali Khan is remembered for his notable service as a distinguished naval officer and former Chief of Naval Staff, as well as his contributions to public service in Bangladesh.
