Mirsari: A Madrasa student died after sinking in a pond at Jamiatul Mamur Jame Masjid pond in South Haidthkandi village under Mirsari upazila this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Salahuddin, 14, son of Jahir Uddin, and a seventh-grade student of Saheirkhali Habibia Dakhil Madrasa in Mirsari upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident was confirmed by Haitkandi Union Parishad member Masud Hossain. Imam Hossain, the deceased's maternal uncle, stated that Salahuddin went to bathe in the pond next to the house in the afternoon. At one stage, he drowned.
Family members and locals, unable to find him, began searching and eventually discovered his lifeless body floating in the pond.
