According to BERNAMA News Agency, the incident occurred early in the morning at 5.30 am as the vehicles were heading towards Kuala Terengganu. The Kemaman police chief, Superintendent Mohd Razi Rosli, reported that the lorry attendant, 27-year-old Mohd Nurarif Kassim from Bukit Rambai, Melaka, died after being ejected from the lorry during the crash.

The accident happened when a Hino lorry, moving in the left lane, reportedly rear-ended a Nissan lorry traveling in the same direction. The impact caused the Hino lorry to lose control, skid, and crash into the road divider.

Fortunately, the driver and attendant of the Nissan lorry were unharmed. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
