Meherpur: The Consumer Rights Protection Department today imposed a fine of TK 50,000 on an LPG business house for operating an unauthorized gas supply in Terail Bazar of Gangni upazila, situated in the Meherpur district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a mobile court executed a raid on Messrs Paras Enterprise and penalized its proprietor, Jahangir Alam, for engaging in the illegal gas business. The enforcement action took place this afternoon.
The operation was led by Mohammad Mamunul Hasan, Assistant Director of the Consumer Rights Protection Department in Meherpur district. The drive was initiated following secret information that alerted authorities to the illicit activities.
The raid was supported by the presence of District Agricultural Marketing Officer Md. Tariqul Islam, District Safe Food Officer Md. Riaz Mahmud, and members of the local police force, ensuring the operation proceeded smoothly and effectively.
