Chattogram:Five people, including a woman and a child, lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries when a lorry collided with bus passengers on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Chhoto Kumira in Sitakunda upazila early Tuesday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, two of the deceased have been identified as Ibrahim, 6, from Netrokona, and a woman named Swapna. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, an officer at the Fire Service's Kumira station, reported that the passengers were traveling from Chattogram to Netrokona when the bus encountered a mechanical issue.
The passengers exited the bus and stood by the highway, at which point a speeding lorry crashed into them and then hit the stationary bus, resulting in three deaths on the spot. Six injured individuals were transported to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where two later succumbed to their injuries.
