Manila:Local Government Division The Local Government Division has temporarily suspended all tenders and procurement activities related to government work. This decision will remain in effect until the completion of new rules and the publication of a rate schedule under the Public Procurement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the directive was communicated through a circular released by the Local Government Division, part of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, on Thursday. The circular, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary ABM Ariful Islam, specifies that both new and ongoing tenders and procurement processes for works, services, and goods are halted until further notice.
The suspension does not apply to matters deemed urgent for national importance. Agencies involved have been instructed to comply with the new directive and take necessary measures until further instructions are issued.
