Gaibandha: The Livestock Services Week and Exhibition-2025 has commenced at Fulchhari upazila town in the district as part of a nationwide initiative. This year's theme is centered around the improvement of domestic breeds and the utilization of modern technology to enhance animal resources.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Upazila Livestock Office and veterinary hospital have organized a series of programs in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Project under the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry. The event began with a discussion meeting and prize distribution ceremony held at the hospital premises, chaired by Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Jahirul Islam.
UNO Jagatbandhu Mondal served as the chief guest during the function, which was also addressed by Upazila agriculture officer Mintu Miah and officer in charge of Fulchhari Police Station Mazharul Islam. The speakers highlighted the importance of advancing the livestock sector to fulfill the local demand for protein. They stressed the creation of more entrepreneurs within the upazila to transform livestock farming into a widespread social movement, thereby increasing its popularity among the youth.
Dr. Jahirul Islam noted that over 20 stalls have been set up in the exhibition to showcase the various livestock breeds available in the upazila to the visitors.
