Bagerhat: The livestock exhibition -2025 took place in Kachua, Bagerhat, highlighting the theme "Local Breeds, Modern Technology-Livestock Will Be Developed." The event aimed to promote the development of indigenous breeds and the adoption of modern technology to strengthen the livestock sector.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair, which opened in the morning with a colourful rally, was jointly organised by the Upazila Administration, Upazila Livestock Department, and Veterinary Hospital, in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP). Dr Mohammad Ali, the Upazila Livestock Officer, presided over the programme.
Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ali Hasan inaugurated the fair as the chief guest, while Livestock Extension Officer Krishibid Prafulla Kumar Malakar conducted the session. During his speech, Ali Hasan emphasized the government's commitment not only to boost production but also to support the rural economy and help farmers become self-reliant. He highlighted that exhibitions like this promote knowledge exchange, encourage innovation, and help farmers embrace new technologies. He assured that the upazila administration will continue providing full support for livestock development.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Asif Haider and Kachua Thana Officer-in-Charge Md Shamim Ahmed also addressed the ceremony as special guests. The event was attended by Kachua Upazila Public Health Engineering Officer Md Raihan Hossain, Upazila Rural Development Officer Md Hasan Imam, ICT Officer Md Moazzem Hossain Rachel, Youth Development Officer Md Akbar Hossain, along with officials from various departments and farmers from across the upazila.
The exhibition featured 30 stalls showcasing a variety of domestic animals and birds. At the end of the programme, the chief guest handed over prizes to the best farmers, while all participants received consolation awards.
