Listed Terrorist and Drug Peddler Nabbed with Firearms and Yaba Tablets in Chattogram

Chattogram: Joint forces arrested a listed terrorist and drug peddler, Jahangir Maji, along with several of his associates from the East Madarbari area in the city early today. Based on information, members of the joint forces conducted a raid at around 12:30 am and detained Jahangir Maji and his accomplices.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the raid, law enforcers recovered a number of locally made firearms and 1,800 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from their possession. Confirming the incident, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadarghat Police Station under Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) said Jahangir Maji had been on the run for a long time to evade arrest.



He said Jahangir and his associates were involved in various criminal activities, including murder, extortion, drug trafficking, and illegal toll collection in Majirghat, Sadarghat, and Madarbari areas of the city for an extended period. The detained individuals and seized items have been handed over to Sadarghat Police Station for further legal action, the OC added.
