Naogaon: Two farmers lost their lives due to lightning strikes in separate incidents in Dhamoirhat and Manda upazilas of Naogaon district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the first incident occurred in Dhamoirhat upazila where Jalal Uddin, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, was struck by a thunderbolt while working in his cucumber field during a morning rain. The impact was fatal, and he died on the spot, confirmed Mokhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Dhamoirhat Police Station.
In a separate incident in Manda upazila, Pintu, son of Moslem from Chakrampur village, was struck by lightning while working in his paddy field. He fell unconscious and was rushed to Manda Upazila Health Complex. However, medical personnel declared him dead upon arrival, stated Masud Rana, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.
