Light to Moderate Rain Expected in Bangladesh Over Next 24 Hours

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty winds in several areas across the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BMD bulletin indicates that regions within the Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience these weather conditions. Additionally, one or two locations in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions might also see similar weather patterns, with predictions of moderately heavy to heavy rainfall specifically over Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

The meteorological office has also suggested that while daytime temperatures might decrease slightly, nighttime temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged throughout the country. The monsoon activity is noted to be less active over Bangladesh but moderate to strong over the North Bay.

As of Thursday, the highest temperature recorded was 36.5 degrees Celsius in Tangail and Netrokona, whereas the lowest temperature was 23.8 degrees Celsius in Bandarban. In the capital city of Dhaka, sunset is expected at 5:51 pm today, with sunrise anticipated at 5:49 am tomorrow.
