Light to Moderate Rain and Thundershowers Expected Across Bangladesh

Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country for the next 24 hours beginning this morning. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the day temperature may fall slightly while the night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Currently, a light to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi and Pabna and it may continue.



The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 38.6 degrees Celsius in Khulna division, whereas today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 22.7 degrees Celsius in Dimla, Rangpur division. The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours until 6 am today was recorded at 63 millimeters (mm) in Kutubdia, Chattogram division.



The sun is expected to set at 6.43 pm today and rise at 5.11 am tomorrow in the capital.
