Dhaka: Legal aid has been provided in 4,640 cases at government expense through the Dhaka and Chittagong Workers’ Legal Aid Cells under the National Legal Aid Organization (NLASO).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the information was disclosed in a report published on the official website of the organization.
The report detailed the legal aid provided by NLASO from 2009 to April 2026. It highlighted that legal aid was extended to workers in 4,640 cases, with 820 of these cases having been disposed of.
In addition, initiatives were undertaken in 3,309 cases of workers for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Out of these, 1,920 cases have been successfully settled.
This legal aid service is offered at government expense under the ‘Legal Aid Act’, aimed at providing legal assistance to indigent and incompetent litigants in the country.
