Chittagong: The National Lawyers Alliance today demanded a speedy trial in the murder case of anti-fascist advocate Saiful Islam Alif.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the NCP-backed organisation made this demand in a statement issued on the first martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Alif. The statement emphasized that the allies, beneficiaries, and anti-national elements of fascist forces tried to instill fear through the brutal murder of Shaheed Alif, but it ultimately backfired against them.

It is noteworthy that lawyer Alif was hacked to death on November 26, 2024. He commenced his legal career at the Chittagong court in 2018 and was later enrolled as a lawyer of the High Court in 2023.
