Land Minister Urges Action to Safeguard Agricultural Land

Rajshahi: Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has called on all relevant authorities to implement effective measures to protect the country’s agricultural land, emphasizing its crucial role in ensuring food security for future generations. He made these remarks during a view-exchange meeting with members of the governing body, teachers, and staff of Rajshahi Metropolitan College.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Minister stressed that agricultural land must not be destroyed under any circumstances, labeling land grabbers as adversaries of both the country and the nation. His comments highlighted the urgent need to preserve agricultural resources to maintain food security.



During the event, Minister Minu also praised Rajshahi Metropolitan College for its notable progress. He expressed optimism about the college’s future, hoping it would continue to thrive through the academic success of its students. He urged teachers to nurture and develop the talents of their students through quality education, which would naturally lead to the institution’s further advancement.



The meeting featured Sadrul Amin, president of the Governing Body of Rajshahi Metropolitan College, as the chief speaker. The event was presided over by Sukumar Sarkar, the principal of the college. Other speakers included Assistant Professor Sultan Sabbir Ahmed of the History Department, Assistant Professor Rebeka Sultana of the Social Work Department, and former student leader Mizanur Rahman Bullet.



Acher Uddin, Assistant Professor of the Mathematics Department, read out the citation, while the welcome address was delivered by Abdus Samad, Assistant Professor of the Bengali Department.
